2. About MY STREAMS PLAYER
MY STREAMS PLAYER is a media player. We do not supply television channels, films, series, streams, subscriptions or third-party provider accounts. Users add their own compatible provider details and are responsible for ensuring that they are authorised to access the content they use.
Provider services are independent from MY STREAMS PLAYER. When you enter provider credentials, the app uses those credentials to communicate with the provider address selected by you.
3. Information we may process
Device and licence information
- Device ID and licence identifiers.
- Hashed or otherwise protected device-key and device-fingerprint information used to recognise a device, protect trials and manage licences.
- Device model, platform, app version, version code and licence status.
- Licence activation, suspension, refund, replacement and entitlement history.
Provider information
- Provider portal URL, username and password entered by you.
- Provider profile information stored locally on your device so the app can connect to your chosen provider.
Provider credentials stored by the app are protected locally using Android security facilities, including Android Keystore-backed encryption where supported by the app. Provider credentials are used to contact the provider selected by you and are not sold by MY STREAMS PLAYER.
Purchase and payment information
- Order or transaction reference, product purchased, amount, currency, payment status, refund status and dispute status.
- For direct website/app purchases, limited customer and payment-status information returned by Stripe.
- For Google Play purchases, purchase and entitlement information required to verify a Google Play purchase and activate the relevant licence. This may include a Google Play purchase token and product identifier.
- For reseller purchases, reseller account details, pack references, activation-code status and related transaction records.
We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers. Card details are processed by the relevant payment provider, such as Stripe or Google Play.
Support and communications
- Your email address, support messages and information you choose to provide when contacting us.
- Device ID, app version, device model, screenshots or order references you provide for support.
Technical and security information
- IP address, request time, server request information and security records.
- Webhook or transaction event identifiers.
- Diagnostic or error information where required to investigate a problem or protect the service.
Website information
Our website may use necessary storage for security, session, payment and privacy-preference functions. Optional analytics and marketing technologies are used only in accordance with the choices available through our cookie controls. See our Cookie Policy.
4. How we use information
- provide the app, trial and licence services;
- register and recognise devices and restore valid licence status;
- verify purchases and activate paid entitlements;
- process refunds, repurchases, chargebacks and payment disputes;
- operate reseller accounts and activation-code services;
- prevent repeated trials, fraud, abuse and unauthorised licence use;
- provide customer support and troubleshoot technical problems;
- maintain the security, reliability and integrity of the app, website and licence systems;
- send service-related communications where necessary;
- meet accounting, tax, legal and regulatory obligations.
5. Lawful bases
Where UK data-protection law applies, we process personal information where necessary to perform a contract with you, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests such as licence security, fraud prevention, support and service protection, or where you have given consent.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent for future processing. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
6. Who we share information with
- Stripe — for direct payment processing, fraud checks, refunds and disputes.
- Google / Google Play — where a Google Play purchase is made or verified, including Google Play Billing and related purchase services.
- Hostinger and infrastructure providers — for website, API, server and database hosting.
- Your selected provider — when the app sends provider details or playback requests to the third-party provider chosen by you, so the app can perform the provider function you requested.
- Professional advisers, regulators, courts and law-enforcement authorities — where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
- Service providers acting for us under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
7. Provider connections and transmission security
MY STREAMS PLAYER can connect to provider addresses entered by the user. Where a provider uses HTTPS, information sent between the app and that provider is protected in transit using the security provided by HTTPS.
Connections between our own website/licensing services and supported payment services are protected using HTTPS and other appropriate security measures.
8. Local app data
Some app information is stored locally on your Android or Fire TV device, including provider profiles, preferences, favourites, viewing history and other app settings. Removing the app or clearing its app data may remove locally stored information.
Information that exists only on your device is generally under your control and is not necessarily held by Moss Hills Ltd on our servers.
9. International transfers
Some suppliers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate lawful transfer mechanisms and safeguards provided by the relevant supplier or required by applicable data-protection law.
10. How long we keep information
- Licence and device records: retained while needed to provide and protect a lifetime device licence, restore valid entitlements, prevent repeated trials and protect against abuse.
- Purchase, refund, dispute and accounting records: retained for the periods required by tax, accounting, payment and legal obligations.
- Support records: retained while necessary to resolve the request and for a reasonable period afterwards for service and dispute history.
- Security and technical records: retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting and service protection.
- Provider details stored locally: retained on the device until removed by you, cleared with app data or removed through the app where that function is available.
11. Data deletion
MY STREAMS PLAYER does not require users to create a MY STREAMS PLAYER consumer account in order to add a third-party provider. However, we provide a way for users to request deletion of personal information that we hold about them.
You can submit a deletion request through our dedicated Data Deletion page or by emailing support@mystreamsplayer.com.
We will delete or anonymise information that we no longer need, subject to information that must reasonably be retained for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, licence-security, refund, chargeback, dispute or regulatory purposes.
Request data deletion12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information, including access controls, password hashing, protected device identifiers, Android security facilities for locally stored credentials, HTTPS for our own supported online services, signed payment webhooks where applicable and restricted administrative access.
No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.
13. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal information, and to request data portability.
You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. We ask that you contact us first so we have an opportunity to address your concern.
14. Children's privacy
MY STREAMS PLAYER is not directed at children. The app does not provide media content itself; users add their own provider. Where the app is distributed through Google Play, the target-audience information declared for that distribution applies.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, payment methods, legal obligations or data practices change. The latest version will be published at mystreamsplayer.com/privacy/ with an updated date.
